Greetings Earthlings.
Terrene: of or like earth; worldly. Here at Terrene Visions, stories are the language of the human spirit. As we are inextricably tied to our earthly origins, so are the stories we tell. Terrene Visions has set forth to create dynamic stories through still and motion photography. With a keen eye for detail ~just as mother nature intended~ each story is custom-built from its concept all the way through to delivery. Documentarian, Amanda Sosnowski, spearheads each project, adding an environmental eye to directing, producing, cinematography, photography, and editing.
As a documentarian specializing in natural history filmmaking, I bring a rich foundation in science to my craft, drawing on years of research and exploration in the sea. My career began with pioneering work as a marine biologist, where I led a deep sea census of cephalopods (squid and octopus) in the Gulf of Mexico, publishing discoveries about deep sea cephalopods that have expanded our understanding of these enigmatic creatures. Motivated by a passion for communicating science to global audiences, I transitioned into filmmaking, first creating short documentaries and branded content before earning an MA in Wildlife Filmmaking at the University of the West of England in partnership with the BBC Natural History Unit. My graduate film, Ghost Ponds, received multiple awards, including a Royal Television Society Cinematography Award, showcasing my ability to blend scientific authenticity with cinematic storytelling. Currently at Offspring Films, I work as an Assistant Producer on landmark wildlife conservation series. My expertise spans directing topside and underwater shoots, developing science-driven narratives, story producing expert contributors, and managing complex expeditions in remote environments. With my strong international expedition background and a deep-rooted understanding of both research and field production, I craft visually striking, scientifically rigorous documentaries. With each project, I endeavor to bridge the gap between science and storytelling, amplifying the urgency of conservation efforts while captivating audiences with the beauty of the natural world. As I continue to navigate the intersection of science and visual storytelling, I remain steadfast in my commitment to inspiring curiosity and driving positive change through the lens of a camera.
